Production

Nowadays pressed sugar is produced without refinement in 0,250 kg and 0,500 kg packets. Pressed sugar is also produced free-flowing in 15 kg packets. According to the newly developed and introduced scheme sugar in lumps in small packaging (17 gr) is produced from refined and unrefined free-flowing sugar. The plant has a monopoly for this production.

  • Pressed sugar, 250 g individual packaging (8.4 g bits),
    supplying in 20 kg boxes: 1180 $ per ton

Investment Suggestions

The total area of the plant is 18,5 h.The area of the industrial territories is 83525 m2 where 23000 m2 is the area of a store house. The plant has its own railway system, fuel pressing capacity (5000 t), Heat Electric Station, the developed industrial infrastructure.

  8. Use of Heat Electric Station of the plant to produce and selling of heat and electricity to consumers. Station began working in 1987, it produces 125 t of vapor an hour, 6 MWt/h of electricity. If condensation turbine is set up, the station will be able to produce about 10–12 MWt/h.

Brief History

Sumy Sugar Refinery Plant was built in 1869 on the banks of the river Psyol where the forest was cut down. In March, 1998 the Regional Department of Ukraine State Property Fund issued an order to open a Joint-Stock Company “Krasnozvezdinsky Sugar Refinery Plant”. On October, 21, 1999 the name of the plant was changed by the Ukrainian National Agency of Cooperative Rights into the Open Joint-Stock Company “Sumy Sugar Refinery Plant” (order #341). At the end of 1999 the section of goffered production was prepared for work and opened. More than 16 7000 m2 of goffered production was made and soled. In 2000 this shop began working better. During the first month of the year more than 200 000 m2 of goffered production was made. The shop became profitable but it was taken on lease.
